I'm up to S1E10, and

Everyone treats Nick like crap! The guy is doing the best he can. What do they expect of him? Good grief.

His dad treats his community service like a hobby he is wasting time on, not a requirement that is keeping him out of prison.

The Director of Legal Services treats him like he's a joke.

The woman who turned down the job at Fallin & Associates to take the Associate Director position for Legal Services said the other employees referred to him as "The guy who uses [the broom closet] when he chooses to stop by and make more work for the rest of them - the community service jerk-off." This is after he has been busting his ass, taking care of kids and families, and even going so far as to foster a dying girl so that she could get a heart transplant. I just don't know what he's doing wrong that everyone treats him like that.

Even his conviction wasn't a big thing. Not that I'm a proponent for drug use, but he wasn't dealing and he wasn't hurting people... a relatively victimless crime in his case, and the prosecutor talks to him like he's a raping, murdering, pedophile who deserves life in prison.

Nick isn't the greatest guy, but he isn't so bad. He has a heart, at least when he's working with the kids, and he works hard. I really don't know what he could or should be doing differently to earn the respect of everyone he works with and for.

I am enjoying this show very much, but this one thing is pissing me off!
