Does Nick end up keeping the judges dog?

shareWhich I think was a huge mistake.
One of Nick's problems is his keeping humanity at a distance, seeming cold and uncaring, even though he isn't.
He really needed to keep that dog. I think the judge knew that, which is why he basically gave him to Nick and hoped he would keep him.
Nick was also Bart's connection to the judge. When Nick found Bart had run away and returned to the judge's home he should have taken him home and kept him.
Who knows? If they had written Bart into the show, it might not have been canceled.
BTW I think the dog did a great job. Too bad he didn't get credit.
