How rich were the Macs

How much are we to assume the Macs were worth on this show?

They had no limos, or servants, or bodyguards or anything.

yeah but he talked about being in movies like oceans 11 and bad santa on the show, plus in one episode he just went out and bought a 55 inch tv and a new home entertainment center for his den without so much as thinking twice. maybe im poorer than most, but when i was married my wife would have killed me.

put away them fiery biscuits.

Well, to quote the Mac-Man himself, they were not country club rich, the were just n-rich...(episode entitled "If I Were N-Riched")...

I guess he might have had around two or three million dollars and his wife might have had thousands herself since she was high up at AT&T

I just watched that episode today. My jaw literally dropped before I fell over laughing.

Can't stop the signal.

I thought he was essentially playing himself. So Bernie Mac rich I would guess?

Sometimes you have to ignore reality. Remember the characters on Friends? They had jobs (ie: working at a coffee house) that would never have paid for their Manhattan apartment rental. Kramer on Seinfeld never really worked either, yet he had an apartment in Manhattan. Current rates for apartments in Manhattan average nearly $4,000 per. month.

Kramer was on Section 8...  

lol thatz the episode that "baby girl"
repeated that phrase at that school !!
too funny the looks on Bernie's face !!

Not sure, but please let's not forget that Wanda was a VP at AT&T, which they established on the first episode. With or without Bernie, she would have - at least - been able to afford that house on her own.

I got the impression they were worth quite a bit (not like Jay Z/Beyoncé or Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie), but lived modestly. I have peers in similar roles in NYC and Cali and this is their norm. So considering that, PLUS Bernie's income, I think they were in a good position.

Not to say they were

I once saw a special on how many millionaires there are in the US now and how they got that way. One lady sold her website for 3 million dollars. She was all excited until she called her rich friends and to make a long story short, found out she was on the lower millionaire scale. She said not much really changed. She still's lives in the same New York apartment.

There are a lot of millionaires out there and most still live conservative lives in moderate neighborhoods.

Bernie had comedy shows, and he was A well established Comedian in the show and in real life, so he always had a never ending income .
