Who hates the staged shots?

Every time they do something, they get the locals to redo what they did,a Point of View shot, as though we are the contestants. Fine thing to do for a movie but for reality tv I hate it because it’s suddenly something staged. I just want it to be real.

Yeah, unfortunately reality tv isn't so real. I still watch this and survivor, but i know most of it is just as scripted as game of thrones.

I am ok with it. Sometimes it helps explain the challenges or obstacles along the way. Like it was helpful to see how crazy it is for a newcomer to search for obscure clues while navigating through the crowds and neon lights of downtown Tokyo.

You might be surprised how many folks don't even notice those sorts of tv tricks.

I scrutinise shots. I hate on reality tv they’ll have a shot of a couple doing something and then some far off shot and I realise they got them to do it twice.

I like how if you pay attention to the cutaway shots, you realize the entire audio track you're hearing has been assembled, cut and clipped from different segments and made into one speech. They're pretty sneaky.
