Bradley Cooper

Its interesting to see how out of all of them he became the biggest star. He started off as a little dweeby and puppy dog in love with Sydney, bushy hair, who was cute, but IMO not as attractive as Vartan at that time. He didn't have much of a storyline other then trying to find out who killed Danny. But when he returned in the middle of season 3 & again at the end of season 5 he came into his own. Its always interesting to see how some hit it bigger than others.

Victor will always have work and if I lived in NY, I'd love to see him on Broadway a lot. Ron Rifkin does well in TV. Jennifer started off hot, but now her films are ok, just not blockbuster, she's now more well known for her commericals. But, yes Bradley was the last I thought who would become as big a star as he is. Vartan I would have liked to see more of, but I really didn't like him in Hawthorne. And dont know what happened to him.I always wonder (not just Alias ) how some hit it bigger than others, especially when you thought the other was just as good. Look at Tom Hanks, very few even know the name Peter Sclaroi.(who at the time I thought was equally good) So besides some talent, is it luck, more driven, a great agent or finding a movie that hits it Big (pun intended )

I'm having fun rewatching this. I remember at the time that Vartan was just the coolest and sexiest guy on TV. I gave no second thought to the guy who played her friend Will. It's funny that you mention puppy dog because as I'm watching it now, so much screen time is given to Vartan looking longingly at Sydney Bristow. I wonder if that influenced how much I liked Vartan - those earnest, yearning looks directed into the camera...

But now I'm like, "how could I not see that Will was hot?!?!" They even show him shirtless at least once in the first season and it didn't matter to me.

I don't get it still. I mean Bradley Cooper is kind of cute in an unconventional emu type of way but I still don't understand why he is this giant A-list star now. He isn't THAT hot and while he is a good actor he isn't phenomenal or anymore talented than Garner or Vartan.

It all started with The Hangover...I wonder if he auditioned on "The Casting Couch" to get that role??? That is the only thing that makes sense to me.

To be honest, I don't get it either. He was kinda cute but he was never as good of an actor as Jennifer Garner, Michael or Victor Garber and still isn't now and I think one of the main reasons he is more bigger than Jennifer now is 'cause of the Ageism and sexism in Hollywood. Jennifer had some very successful roles in Hollywood after Alias but like with a lot of actresses once she got in her late 30s the roles dried up. Many actresses have spoken about this in interviews and even men working in the industry have said it is far easier for a male in his late 30s onwards to get leading roles than a female and males actors in their 40s and 50s are often paired with actresses who are 10-20 years younger than them actresses around their age.

I wouldn't say it all started with The Hangover. I first became aware of him in The Hangover, but I recognized him when I re-watched Wedding Crashers, in which he played a prominent role.

Alias was must watch TV when it first ran and Bradley Cooper is an actor I enjoy watching now. But I never connected him with Alias until rewatched the first episode this evening. When I look at IMDb there were a lot of roles between Alias and his current stardom that I didn't see and maybe he didn't make that much of an impression on me at the time - though it would be interesting to ask the distaff side of the household if they have a different memory - so maybe my lack of connectivity is not too surprising.
But as other have observed it interesting to see the different career trajectories over time. I know there are many interesting actors I've noticed who apparently fade away - guess I'd make a lousy talent spotter for any film organisation?

I always get a kick out of watching older stuff and seeing who was big at the time, while a soon/later to be start is a minor character.
