How Alias managed to grip me and lose me at the same time (SPOILERS)

So I sat down once and started watching the pilot. I liked the characters and the plot seemed good enough to hold my interest. And then suddenly, after not even that long, Sydney's boyfriend (or was it husband) gets MURDERED.

Not killed, mind you. MURDERED.

Did Sydney make a mistake telling the truth about her job? Maybe. She put him at risk. But that doesn't mean it's right that he was murdered. It was very cruel and cold of them to murder someone she loves just so he "won't say anything".

And it almost had me to tears. It was so sad.

Unfortunately, it also really doesn't work for me. It would've been one thing if Danny Hecht got in danger because of it and was murdered by someone on the other side. But no. He's murdered by the people Sydney works with. And I'm supposed to buy into that she will continue to do so for 5 seasons?

Maybe for other people it's a perfect start setting the tone of the series. But for me it's more of a distraction, and the reason why I couldn't stand this pilot.

Can't tell if this is a joke or if you just stopped watching after Danny died. Maybe you should try watching again.

I don't know either It sounds like it is a joke or the member is just a troll looking for attention.

Did you even bother watching the rest of the episode and the first season at least OP 'cause if you did all of the questions you asked in your thread would be answered for you in a few hours.
