Just finished season 1...have a question about episodes in season 2

Okay so I've been sick for year and I've developed a phobia of vomit. I was reading the episode breakdowns for season 2 and i see an "ebola like virus" comes into play around episode 6. I just wanna make sure..there's no vomiting i hope? I seriously have PTSD from being so sick in the past that it's hard for me to deal with the imagery so I just wanted to ask. Before I get to those episodes. SO if someone could tell me i'd really truly appreciate it. I'm really loving this series so far and I can deal with torture and stabbing and blood but not vomit lol I know it sounds ridiculous but....i've bee through a lot healthwise. So anyhow anyone remember? Thanks in advance.

What about blood vomit, not mushroom soup-vomit? Because I think I remember a guy vomiting blood once. It's real quick, though.

Hmm is it projectile? That bothers me more than anything. I'm ok with stuff like...i dunno if you've seen V for Vendetta...there is a point during a fight scene in that movie where V stabs a police officer in the stomach in an up close shot of their faces and some blood comes out before he falls over and dies...that never bothers me. I've found I have a lot of PTSD about the SOUND of throwing up too. The retching sound and splatter sounds etc. Sometimes even memories of it with myself still bother me i was so sick :(

Actually, I just checked the episode I was talking about. He didn't even vomit blood at all; his hands were just bloody, which he slapped against the wall of the glass isolation chamber he was in. I don't know why I remembered that as vomiting.

Come to think of it, I don't recall of any scenes where anyone was shown vomiting. And since it was an ABC show -- a network show -- I don't think you can expect anything extreme on the scale of disgust.

Yeah hopefully you're right. I know after Jack injected Will with heroin to get him out of trouble and he was going through withdrawal at Syd's apartment they kind of got the end of him getting sick in the toilet. I was ok with that he just sort of spit into it after being sick. I guess I'll have to suck it up and hope nothing is shown lol unfortunately i've seen people throw up on network tv before but what can you do? *sigh* One of the most annoying phobias to have in my opinion.

reply

I'm 99% sure this does not involve vomit at all. It's just gross bloody stuff. In fact, I can't think of a time in the whole series when anyone vomits.

reply

good to know thanks. And yup i dealt with the episodes in question fine.

beware season 4, episode 6, "Nocturne," approximately 7 minutes in (after the very beginning, the opening credits, and the mission briefing), there is something like projectile vomiting (I can't remember exactly, it's been a while since I watched it, and this is literally the only episode of Alias I don't like, so I haven't watched it as many times as other episodes)

as non-spoilery as I can describe it - an apparently abandoned apartment is being searched, a small crawlspace is investigated, you should look away when Syd turns around to face the camera (after looking at the stuff inside the crawlspace), and look back when you hear the gun shot, you'll miss seeing it, but, unfortunately, there is a sound effect for the vomiting, but I don't know how to tell you when it's safe to look back, without using an audio cue, but the whole vomiting part lasts about 15 seconds

what happened:
there's someone hiding in there, there's a fight, and the person who was hiding ends up on top of Syd, and vomits violently onto her (it's not foodstuffs, it's more like thick black goo); and, in case you muted, as well, the spoiler-tagged part above is, "gun shot," Jack shoots the vomiting man dead, and he kinda collapses onto Syd

P.S. I understand your aversion to vomiting, even the sound of retching, on screen, I have it, too
