Chill out, it's all just a game.

These child beauty shows are like anything else, if you don't take it too seriously it IS fun and it IS FINE. It's just like any other sport. Take highschool football for instance. You'll have one out of 10 kids whos parent pushes them and makes them believe it's the only thing in the world. But should it be totally banished and bashed... no. What about those 9 other kids who like doing it just to do it? Why do no people think there are any girls in paegents like this?
The make up, the clothes, the hair, it's not child prostitution or wrong, what little girl doesn't like to play dress up? Not ALL parents take it to a psychotic level and I've known plenty of these child beauty queens who grew up JUST fine.
It's all just like prom... you dress up, you get your hair done and your nails and your make up, and every girl hopes to win queen, but hey if you don't, you still had a blast. And yes prom is a very different age level and I don't agree with dressing up infants and 3 year olds in these costumes, there SHOULD be some sort of age limit because you never know what children are allergic to make up wise and even if this is what they really want... but my real point is that it's very ignorant and uneducated for people to stereotype every parent and every child involved with these paegents. All we can do is spread the word to parents that it's important for children to understand it's all just a show, and when you go home you should play with your toys and friends and when it stops being fun for them, well then it was a nice ride.

little girl - you wear less clothes as a cheerleader and dancer than these pageants girls. You wear more make up than them too so go away.

I totally agree, I have two young neices who are competitive dancers, and there's alot of pagentry involved with the costumes and make-up, but once the competition is over, the make-up comes off and they go right back to being the typical 8 and 11 year old girls.
