She is a beautiful and talented actress. Actress, that means she does what needs to be done to bring the character to life including nudity if needed for the scene. You do this or get out of the business.
If you look at all the academy award winners for the past 30 years, most if not all have done nudity in film although I can't recall Streep in a nude scene.
If you didn't know she did nudity then you have not seen any of her movies except for the Princess diaries.
