Guitar
I know the name of the guitar he's playing in the stand up concert. What's the name of the guitar he's playing in the sit down sessions?

Well in the one show he played 2 guitars, he begin on That's Alright, and then a few songs in, he swapped guitars with Scottie Moore, nice to see that a few of them used actual inturments and just noty banging on guitar cases, hint Alan Fotras and DJ, however you spell his last name.
shareThe electric is a Gibson Super 400, (and alittle trivia) if your wondering what that folded up rag is under the strings next to the bridge, that's to keep the feedback down, since scotty doesn't have his string damper installed next to the nut (or I didn't notice it).

What?! My Fair Lady is a bad Oscar winner?! Aaaggghhh!
What is the modeland make of the guitar that has the Gibson 355 looking body but with a Fender headstock?
Hagstrom Viking. Nice looking guitar. I believe it was lent to him to use specfically for that TV special. I love that bit when he strums a chord and didn't realise the volume's turned all the way down. TWANG!!! Take a look.

Yep, that red one he used during the standups is a Hagstrom Viking. He originally wasn't going to use a guitar in the standups, but they thought that he needed something flashy to hold and play around on while he was up there. So they started to look around for somebody that had a guitar. Al Casey, who did all the guitar work on the show, just happened to have his Hagstrom with him and so he let them use it.
It's a magnificent looking guitar.
Thanks for the background story about it, that was interesting.
