I completely agree! I came on here to get the rating to tell my brother who I've just loaned my DVD to, and I'm gutted it's a 7.1 - deserves waayyyyy higher!

this movie was bloody fantastic. the sets weren't absurd, the acting was great. I can't believe people are actually faulting the movie.

shareto be honest with you guys, I found this one to be very boring. I didnt like the actors and I didnt care about the things that happened to them. Somehow I just couldnt connect to the movie. I also think that twistwise there are way better movies out there.

just to add some context, i am not someone who thinks american pie is a 9/10 movie.
my favourite movies are primer, triangle, timecrimes, cube trilogy etc so was very suprised i didnt think this was upto much
maybe its a movie for those who think its clever, comparitive to their intellect? therefore very subjective

Funny, I love Cube (the first, not the dire sequels) and Los Cronocrímenes (Timecrimes) but I also really enjoyed this, a refreshing low budget sci-fi film, I'm not saying it's genius but then neither was Timecrimes nor Cube.
shareI just finished watching it again and I definitely agree with your sentiments. Cypher, is one of the only films I have recently seen that has actually kept me on the edge of my seat for the duration of the film. I audibly gasped more than once. I really can't understand the low rating, then again I see alot of great movies (in my opinion) which sit around the 7 mark. Repulsion may be 7.9 but it deserves to be in the top 250.

For the IMDB, a rating of 7.0 is actually pretty decent. Besides, you can't always use the IMDB's ratings as a baseline.
