Digicorp and Sunways

Is it ever explained what these two companys are and why they are doing this to people?

reply

I have a guess that Digicorp and Sunways Systems were both gigantic megacorporations that were locked in some subtle cold war over the collection of digital information, they were also brainwashing their own operatives and the technology they used to do this was supplied by freelancer master spy, Mr. Rooks, a dangerous individual who they wanted to capture or eliminate to tie up loose ends (which made Rooks do what he did by fooling both rival organizations, then stealing data on his lover that they knew directly about and killing their intelligence chiefs).

Sunways Systems was clearly the biggest corporation by far with their impossibly secure data vault built several miles underground, while Digicorp was a smaller competitor that shifted a lot of their resources into spying on and stealing from Sunways Systems (you also notice that Digicorp is associated with squares while Sunways Systems is associated with circles - this is clearly reflected in their company logos, the shape of their HQ buildings and even the gasmasks of their security troops).

Is that sufficient enough explanation?

One reviewer called Digicorp "Movie Microsoft". He referred to Sunways as "Sun Micro Systems".

Irrelevant plot device. Spacely Sprockets vs. Cogswell Cogs.
