What a coward.

What a coward Bundy was. Sobbing, and pleading for mercy, when they shaved his head, and put the cotton balls in his anus. Bundy, who had no mercy, on his victims, now asking for mercy. Bundy, who shed no tears for his victims, now asking for theirs.

reply

I agree completley. I couldn't have said it better myself. This man was no man. He was a monster. He deserved everything he had coming to him. For those who say the death penalty is pointless, I suggest you place yourself in the shoes of the victim's families. If someone like Bundy ever did something like he did to any of my loved ones, I would consider killing him myself.
Someone like that does not deserve the gift of life, and he would have never talked if they had listened to him and prolonged his death. He was pathetic. I do not agree with the death penalty most of the time, but in cases like him, nothing else fits. He was too deranged to be able to live.

reply

I so agree with both of you. Most of the time, I don't agree with the death penalty either, but in Bundy's case, it was the only choice. God created all of us...He does not create "mistakes." Bundy was born like anyone is, and I'm sure he was a cute baby. But as an adult, he chose a path of evil. Which is tragic, considering his background, and education. He could have been a real asset to society, with his intelligence, like a lawyer, or politician, if he'd chosen a higher path. But instead, he chose evil.

reply

Yep, sadly. If that scene was meant to evoke our sympathy for Bundy, it failed. I felt absolutely nothing for him.

reply

It is pathetic that all of you watched this highly inaccurate movie and believed its false story of Bundy's execution.

reply

When did the movie claim to be accurate at all? And honestly, "chose this path". Give me a break. Ted Bundy had a HORRIBLE childhood. And normally when people have catastrophic childhoods, they vent their frustration on the world in some form. Drugs, alcohol and sex are perfect examples. But in Ted Bundy's case, it was murder.

reply

I am so sick of this 'horrible childhood' *beep*

It is just another excuse people use to justify what they do. What about those of us who have horrible childhoods and grow up to be good people? Or people who have wonderful childhoods and supportive families and grow up to be criminals?

No one forced him to rape, torture, and kill.

He made a choice.

Honesty is the best policy, but insanity is a better defense.

reply

How about you do some goddamn research before being a dick and trashing my post?

reply

It isn't a matter of research; if a criminal had a good upbringing it doesn't make the news; that would ruin society's cherished belief that childhood/parents are to blame for everything some sadistic sleaze does and it would force personal responsibility on people. A person who becomes a serial killer CHOOSES that path and they are personally responsible for their actions. Bundy knew exactly what he was doing and that it was wrong, he just didn't care. So don't make people listen to the 'terrible childhood' crap... it is just another excuse to avoid personal responsibility. It is everyone's fault except the person who actually committed the crime.

Honesty is the best policy, but insanity is a better defense.

reply

"When did the movie claim to be accurate at all?"

It certainly implies some accuracy just by the use of his name. I think most people are under the false apprehension that movie producers can be sued if a movie is slanderous, when in fact, it can't be if the subject is dead.

reply

He did NOT had a horrible childhood.

reply

I don't know where you got your information from, but you are dead wrong. Bundy did NOT have a "horrible" childhood. He had a dysfunctional childhood due to the family making him believe his mother was his sister, but he was not abused. And the anecdote about a 3 year old Bundy arranging all the knives from the kitchen around a sleeping family member would indicate that Bundy was born disturbed and something was terribly wrong with him. He did choose to commit evil acts. Many people have gone through truly horrific abuse as children and yet they don't grow up to be criminals much less serial killers.

Blessed is he who has not seen and yet has faith.

reply

"If that scene was meant to evoke our sympathy for Bundy, it failed. I felt absolutely nothing for him."

I think the scene was supposed to show you that Bundy was a big baby. Someone who could dish it out but couldn't take it.

However, this is a totally false scene and isn't what actually transpired when Bundy was executed.

reply

It was not trying to gain sympathy for bundy, but to a lesser degree, the latter third was an attempt to show how we are not necessarily that different. the officers who prepare him behave in much the same way that he did, and seem to enjoy what they are doing just as much.

reply

This is the kinda of guy who deserved to be castrated before the penalty, I think we can all agree on that.

but I'm gonna a step further I'd go for public execution, maybe firing squad, or hell bring back the guillotine just for him.

reply

See other discussions regarding death penalty. Bundy was a monster, but castration and public execution brings you down to his level.

reply

They may bring me down, but I'd have one hell of a time watching that sick bastard being executed, and I'd give a standing ovation, at the end. A murder/rapist/pedophile dosen't deserve my or your sympathy. In the end death was what he deserved, no if, ands, or buts about it.

Don't worry, I saw Lord of the Rings. I'm not going to end this 17 times.

reply

The only person's behaviour you are responsible for, is your own. Nothing that Bundy did justifies someone else committing murder, which is what the death penalty is.

See the other thread for long arguments for and against the death penalty. I don't have a shred of sympathy for Bundy, I just do not believe in the death penalty under any circumstances. I believe he should have spent the rest of his natural life behind bars until he died.

reply

I agree with you there, suffering in prison would have been worse death
especially with the code of immates, usually child molestation immates get teh worse treatment out of them all, but imagine being the parents of the people he killed, the parents of the 12 year old he raped and murdered. But as for me I'm back and forth on the death penalty sometimes someone deserves to die, sometimes not. I respect your opinion and I'm not here to change your opinion, its just there really wasn't a single suitable punishment for that man.

reply

I appreciate that the relatives of all of Bundy's victims I'm sure were angry and devastated by his actions. But that is why we have an impartial legal system (or at least aspire to anyway), and we have courts and prisons instead of lynch mobs.

I respect others opinions on the subject, even if I disagree, since it is just that....my opinion.

reply

I'm not here to force you change your opinion I respect it, and I'm glad someone has attempted to bring in another opinion on Bundy. It's just I can't imagine what the victims must have felt after they got the news their child, sister, etc was raped and murdered, It comes down to that If I go through that type of situation (Hopefully not, one should) then I could honestly say what I would do. And You're right about the legal system the one we aspire to have, and Courts and Prisons and how we give someone a trial first...so say it all depends on the circumstances, for me.

I think he should of been brutaly tortured so he could feel the pain he put so many people through. Electric chair was a let off for him.

Oh Look At That Im Very Good

reply

Sorry SIPAYN but in lite of recent events my opinion on life and death have been drastically changed...Sylvia Likens, that story broke my heart after I learned what happened to that innocent girl, so I agree Kamehameha88 it was too easy and life in prison would have been to easy.

You DON'T RESPECT LIFE you DON'T DESERVE LIFE.

SIPAYN I want to think you though our conversation was enlightening, but I now find myself in a different state of mind.

Even though I am a hypocrite of my own opinion, well that just makes me human, it all depends on the circumstances in the end of all things.

Later.

The man was a liar, a rapist, a necrophile, and most of all he was a murderer. He didn't even look the women in the eye when he killed them. He always caught his victims by surprise. He also killed a 12-year-old girl! A defenseless child.

reply

Not how it happened. Ted wasn't sobbing, not begging. He accepted his fate.

reply

I guess he would have to accept his fate when all the letters he wrote begging for his life didn't help.

Oh, he certainly did try to save his life. He was frightened. But he did maintain his composure.

I thought this was going to be commenting on the fact he ambushed women by hitting them over the head with a tireiron when they weren't looking. So he's not much different than the abusive deadbeat from Enough. Just about any guy could kick his ass including me. Even the woman that escaped show how weak he is. He wouldn't last a minute in Ultimate Fighting.
