How is it implied that Puck becomes Republican?

At the end of the film, Puck heads out to California to go back to school and be with his girlfriend. He may not be an Anarchist, at least in the form he was around the arrival of Johnny Black, but how is it ever implied that he'll become Republican?

I dont think it was implied that he would be a republican, but it was pretty obvious that he was no longer an anarchist.

I felt the movie implied more that he become disenchanted with the anarchist ethos and started a new life in California.

What that implies, is left to the viewer.

I thought that it implied that Peter became a Libertarian b/c of the line about freedom and responsibility. That has been (as far as I can remember) a major theme of the Liberarian party.

reply

a lot of libertarians dont really have that 'responsibility' part, think dealing heroin should be legal, etc.

I think you need to warn us when you are gonna spoil the ending of a movie!!! I'm
watching it right now, and now know how it ends!!!!

peter disagrees with his girlfriend, but that doesn't mean he has to disown her.

and she disagrees with him, but that doesn't mean she doesn't love him.

love and personal relationships are more important than abstract political ideas.

an anarchististic message if ever there was one (see the film Love and Anarchy by Lena Wertmuller for more on this theme)
