Help me. I want to learn.

Everytime a movie is made that even remotely illudes to anarchy, someone on this website starts a topic about how bogus and innaccurate it is. I would really like to learn about anarchy, in its true form. Are there any films or books that depict anarchy for what it REALLY is? I have read the actual anarchist cookbook. Thank you to anyone who can help.

Whatever you find make sure you listen to The Sex Pistols - Never Mind the B*ll*ocks, apart from being an arrogent p**** Jonny Rotton always spoke of Anarchy quite a lot.

every film has a begining, middle and an end, but not always in that order

The Sex Pistols were a good pop band but I wouldn't look to them much for enlightening philosophy, unless it's about exploiting an image to make money

I realize this is a bit old but I figured I would help you out if you are still around.

One of the best books that can give you an introduction to anarchism without the heavy theory is George Orwell's "Homage to Catalonia". It is about the Spanish Civil War which had parts of Spain living along anarchist principles.

For a more in depth look at anarchism there is "An Anarchist FAQ" http://www.infoshop.org/faq/index.html

For some of the theorists who have paved the way you can check out this site:

I suggest starting with Emma Goldman's "Anarchism what it really stands for". Also Proudhon's "What is Property?" is good for giving an understanding of the more in depth stuff. Be careful of Murray Rothbard though. Most anarchists don't accept him as one. He is termed an anarcho-capitalist which is an oxymoron. Anarchists are against hierarchy and the capitalist market creates financial hierarchy and thus can not be considered anarchistic.

Also this website has some books in audio form free.

You should check out Days of War, Nights of Love, Anti Work Essays and as before Emma Goldman's "Anarchism: What it stands for" for starters.

I hope you look into it.
