Green Day

A viewer asks Bill about Green Day and their song, "American Idiot" and Bill says that it's about a drug dealer... Say what? Here are the lyrics:

Don't wanna be an American idiot.
Don't want a nation under the new mania
And can you hear the sound of hysteria?
The subliminal mind phuc America.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alienation.
Where everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
For that's enough to argue.

Well maybe I'm the f*ggot America.
I'm not a part of a redneck agenda.
Now everybody do the propaganda.
And sing along to the age of paranoia.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alienation.
Where everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
For that's enough to argue.

Don't want to be an American idiot.
One nation controlled by the media.
Information age of hysteria.
It's calling out to idiot America.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alienation.
Where everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
For that's enough to argue.

Now my question is, does anyone know where I can get some of what Bill was smoking when he listened to that song and came away thinking it was about a drug dealer?

I just learned how to use the "Spoiler" button...

Bill doesn't care if he's right. He just wants to sound smart enough so his audience (of scared old white people) buy what he's selling.

No human with an IQ over 80 would watch his show for actual "news". Bill O'Relly is to news is what WWE is to actual wrestling.

First of all, it isn't a news program, it's a news analysis program. And the people who would dismiss it out of hand because it doesn't conform to their particular bias would seem to be the people with low IQ's. I don't agree with a lot of O'Reilly's opinions, but his facts are almost always correct. It's his interpretation of those facts that I sometimes disagree with.

First of all, it isn't a news program,

Fox does a brilliant job of mixing news shows with opinion shows, but they do a horrible job of letting the audience know which is which. Of course, this is intentional.

but his facts are almost always correct.

This website disagrees with you. Although I'm sure you'll disagree with it and you'll probably "dismiss it out of hand because it doesn't conform to your particular bias".

Seems like s small sample size, but it's more than you've provided to support your opinion.

Good day, sir. 

*EDIT: here's a couple more b/c I felt bad about politco only having a small sample size.

Anyway, I'm out. This is the part of the show where we'll both post links that support our opinions and walk away from this thinking we "PWNED" the other.
