Why do people continue to watch this stuff? I'm not being a troll.

This is a serious question.

I did not post this to be a troll. I will only say that I do not have a very high opinion of Mr. O'Reilly, and will leave it at that. However, I will try to be open-minded regarding any responses.

Could someone please explain the appeal of this man?

His show is better than anything else at that time slot. It's the way he presents the news. I don't watch every segment. Some are interesting, some are not.

I have a mixture of liberal & conservative values but am socially liberal. He gets a lot of liberal viewers.

Thank you for your response. I still don't get it; I guess to each their own.

Why not ask the same thing of those who watch Rachel Maddow?

Does he have one?

What's the appeal of Al Sharpton, Maddow, etc? They are far worse compared to O'Reilly

reply

Agreed!

Even though I often disagree with his viewpoints, he's typically the sharpest guy in the room and he most often gives a fair opportunity for anyone to rebuff his stance or opinion.

The older this man gets, the more pronounced his pathological narcissism becomes. He is smart. But he believes he's the expert in everything. He's condescending to his guests and a bully. And the behavior he has displayed toward women in his personal life is further evidence of this. On today's episode he told a guest he looked like a "dandy," and that it's not a good thing to be. Who is he to comment on a guest's attire? He thinks his two cents are gold to all of us "pinheads." I stumbled on to his show today out of boredom. I won't fall into that trap again. I don't enjoy watching his personality disorder in action.

How can you have any opinion of O'Reilly without watching. Most liberal democrats say they hate him because they must go along with the other ill informed. Do you know that his show has raised millions for injured military men and women. did you know that a huge percentage of the royalties from his books goes to the veterans and he doesn't make a fuss about it.

I would say it takes a high tolerance for bombast. I'm a conservative, and I never understood the appeal, either. I have noted that most of the people who seem upset at his departure are the sorts of conservatives who think Trump is the epitome of conservatism.
