Just played it for the first time

I finally played Unreal Tournament today, and it was on my friend's Dreamcast. I must say, I liked all of the different weapons that you could use, but they were all pretty much the same.

The only problem is that I couldn't really look up and down without making it hard for myself. It's weird, because back in 1999, this would've been EXACTLY what I wanted. I've never been good with playing PC games with a keyboard and a mouse. So games like Doom and Marathon, I had a ball with, because the controls were extremely simple.

Nowadays, I've got an Xbox with Halo, Timesplitters, Star Wars: Battlefront II, etc. I honestly think that I've been spoiled with this "ability" to look all over the place. Which is weird at the same time, because I still love a good game of Doom. Yet for the same reason that I loved Doom, I had a problem with in Unreal Tournament. Nostalgia, perhaps?

I dunno. Just wanted to share my thoughts on the game.

Yea I had it for dreamcast with mouse and keyboard. It was so awesome I miss it so much :( I shouldn't have sold the dreamcast. I still have UT though for all consoles :)

I've only the pc version, heard that the ps2 version isn't as good. Especially knowing that:

no online play (obviously, wasn't around then)
can't change your name
no GOTY mutators etc
no mods to download for it

Practically everything

First tiem I played this someone pressed 'T' and I couldn't maove and I said 'This is a stupid gmae, can't move.'

Very next month or so you wouldn't been able to get me off, pretty much like now, that was in 2000 I think or 2001.

As a single player game I thought Unreal Tournament was good...but mulitplayer is where it came into its own, especially if you played it with 4 or so mates. Total fragfest and I remember playing this till the wee hours of the morning. Even though the graphics look dated now by todays standards I would still recommend it purely for the multiplayer experience!! HEADSHOT!!!
