"Sin noticias..." & "Lola rennt" connections

Hi all!
I'm pretty sure somebody already noticed that there are some striking similarities between "Sin noticias de Dios" and "Lola rennt" (a.k.a. "Run Lola Run) a 1998 German movie by Tom Tikwer starring Franka Potente as Lola.
In both movies there's a couple whose names are "Lola" and "Manni" (or "Manny"), both the "Mannis" are in trouble because they need to find in time some money they own to some outlaw (or corrupted policeman). In both cases the money has been obtained by reselling jewels.
I don't know if there are more connections, but definitely they cannot be just coincidences! Does anyone know if the director mentioned it in some interview?
