'The Hard Way' Remake

anyone else think that is an (The Hard Way)remake? and did someone perceived that mos def is in BOTH movies?

reply

Haven't seen Mos Def in Hard Way. It's a nice movie, but I wouldn't say Showtime is a remake. Both just mock on 'buddy cop' movies in DIFFERENT manners (using elements, not ususal for that kind of movies) and that's all. Loved both movies, though.

"Remake" wasn't what popped into my head when I saw it starting, more "complete rip-off". (Mos Def, never heard of.. IMDBing now :))

"The Hard Way" is a much better film in every way.

Mos Def is indeed in "The Hard Way" (he's one of the gang teens that gets rousted by James Woods). He's pretty young at the time

I love Murphy (earlier Murphy!), but Showtime should not even be spoken in the same breath as The Hard Way!!!!

The Hard Way is an entertaining action comedy with great chemistry between Michael J.Fox and James Woods.

If this was trying to copy The Hard Way,it failed.

It's a take on a similar theme (goofy guy wants to be involved but doesn't take it seriously vs. stiff guy who takes everything overly seriously, and they grow together through the plot), but it's no remake.

Trying real hard to be the shepherd.

Yeah similar theme, thats it. I quess i thought of an remake because they was SO similar.

Mos Def was the spleeping Dead Romeos Gang Member on the couch. I barly recognise him, hes was more an extra in the movie.

I watched Showtime first before watching Hard Way. As I was watching Hard Way I realized its the same plot. It even had the custom off the market illegal gun element too.
