I loved this film, but it's slow moving and ambiguous in parts...kind of like "Lost in Translation." In other words, not for everybody.

Great insight on that link. Kind of ironic in a way, too... since the novel is about two girls sharing a life, one of them struggling with her identity. Sounds like identity is the main controversy among some viewers of this unrelated movie, too.

"Wait a second! Was this movie written by a white boy! I really don't think that you can claim to represent Asian America because I believe that you have benefitted from white priviledge. I mean, 'Byler'? That doesn't sound too Asian to me.
