Dear God, I ran out of vomit bags

This, "film" (it seemed more like a documentary), was so true to life, it harmed me both physically, emotionally, and psychologically.

The sabretooth cat was simply horrifying. Everytime it went on screen, I'd pee my pants. I had to run to the supermarket during the commercial break, and pick up some adult Depends. And when I returned to watch the rest of the movie, I had to change them frequently, because the Sabretooth would always appear when I least expected it. It was so life-like, and the movements it made were so real. I am sure that if they brought back a sabretooth cat, it would look exactly like that.

The director truly knew what he was doing. The scene where the black guy took on the cat with the knives was so tense, I could barely continue to watch; I bit through my nails until they bled! The way that the sabretooth cat was fencing with its teeth put the so-called "greatest" fight choreographers, like John Woo, to shame.

The scientist lady was so mean, she made me weep for humanity. I was screaming NOOOOOOOOOOOOO when she tossed away that sattelite phone; I just knew that was a bad idea! And when everyone else tried to get help from her, and she refused to even try to help, it made me deeply sad. I don't understand how anyone could be that mean.

The gore was amazingly realistic and sick! I got physically ill multiple times, and had just had clam chowder for lunch, and I ended up vomiting many times; it was truly a physically taxing experience for me! I had three Southwest Airlines courtesy bags, and I ended up filling all of them, and then part of my trashcan. It was that real!!! I just cannot recommend that anyone let kids anywhere near this movie!

Overall, this movie is an incredible experience!

I must say I liked this movie to a degree. I do watch anything and mean anything with David Keith. I mean he has been in some awlful movies. This one I found was okay. One of the best sci fi has to offer...haha...so really that is not saying too much.
This definitely was not his best role. Liked him in the Epoch movies.

Now where is all the gore everyone is talking about? This is pretty tame. Compared to Saw and other movies...haha.

Ok...after reading that long explaination of how this movie nearly did you in from all the scares and gore.....I was laughing until I got to the end where I expected to see "Gotcha!!" written somewhere!

Now I'm wondering if you were even talking about the *same* movie!

The Sabretooth in this movie was AWFUL! You could clearly tell it was CG--and a lousy job of CG at that! The blood had the color and thickness of buckets of red paint, and though there was "blood" everywhere, I certainly didnt find it real enough to make me puke my guts out. lol

My Husband and I are fans of the B rated horror movies--what makes them so funny and entertaining is the fact that the actors (generally no-namers) do such an awful job of line delivery, cliches, and screaming. And the gore (although LOTS of it) is so lame and overdone!

If a movie like this put you through all the torment you stated above----a *real* horror film would probably kill you! ;-)

Probably not a good idea to see Saw, The Devil's Rejects, or Hostel....

This movie really scared the tar out of me too. It was reminiscent of the Blair witch project, in that all these kids are in the forest & you never know what will happen until BAM! the sabretooth jumps out & mauls them. Whew, it was intense and forces you off your seat or at least to the edge of it.

The sabretooth itself, incredibly realistic, large & scary. Something I would never want to see in the wilderness. I couldn't believe the beginning, when the drivers truck crashes & out comes this ferocious monster! Whew! Talk about something you would never think of!

All in all, a very underated film, great actors, they really do an excellent job of conveying emotion (ie how would it really feel to encounter this beast), overall a fantastic, albeit frightening movie. I give it a 9/10 simply for the fear factor.

Hostel was a real horror film? Coulda fooled me, the campiness of that movie made me laugh more than cringe..

peace.

Brilliant :D He doesn't have to write "Gotcha!" cause it's so obvious he's kidding. Well done mate!

haha...

i just kept it on for Jenna Gering and Vanessa Angel.

I think the funniest part was when the Sabretooth attacked Rhys-Davies. Then the hunter comes back and sees his corpse all torn up and no flesh. hahaha that was really funny because Rhys was funny hahaha.

Thank you. Please likewise also respond to the other flicks I buy at the library booksale, too.

Man and I thought I was the only one who had to turn away during those scary parts. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone under 17. In fact it should only be shown late at night (when it's usually shown anyway- wonder why?). It should have gotten an R rating. The violent scenes are simply too much for regular TV and could cause serious trauma for younger viewers, much like "Chupacabra Terror"

PARENTS: only let your children watch if you're there to answer any questions about giant sabretooth tigers, people playing God (genetics), sex (the scene where the goofball in bed with his wife/girlfriend), b/c the guy in bed looks under the covers after he has sex, and his partner is eaten shortly thereafter.

I plan to write AMC and maybe SyFy and ask that they edit this movie more and remove the excessive violence and sex. And finally, seeing the giant tiger getting impaled on the long sharp tree limb might give someone the idea that it's okay to hurt/kill sabretooths. They're already endangered and we can't afford to lose anymore.

I hope I can count on you regular IMDb fans to join me in this project. Perhaps they'll make a sequel that will truly live up to the standards that a star like Vanessa Angel deserves...
