So ... what did everyone think of the new episode?

Personally - I didn't like it. It's just not the same :( Brian and Sophie don't even seem funny anymore.

Its just like the old kids the old one is like Mel then the other little gilr is likle lucy BUT shes a animal geek. Then the older boy is just wierd n so is the little boy but hes like cj. I really dont think it'll be good but i'll still watch it becuase sophie and brian are still funny.

I'm not sure. I thought it was sad about their memories being wiped. It's a bit rubbish that they imported a practically identikit family of kids though, there's a mel, lucy, josh and a cj. Even that guy in the trailer was dressed like Mr Whiteside. Did mel and the old kids and wendy and the school have their memories wiped as well last series? Because I'm wondering if they have started an investigation about Brian and Sophie. I'll have to reserve judgement until I've seen a few more episodes but it seems they've just changed the kids and location and are just repeating the same stories.

I never really watched series 8-I didnt want to.I loved it just the way it was. I understand why they wiped Brian and Sophies memories though: 1) so they wouldnt be sitting around pining and reminiscing about Mel, Josh and Lucy and 2) so they would be completely ignorant of all Earthly ways as they were at the beginning of series one-a lot of the humour was based on Brian and Sophie trying to fit it and usually muddling things up. I guess they (the writers) were trying to re-create this scenario for a new generation of fans.
