What was it even about? The imdb summary didn't sum it up that much for me.

I am so glad I managed to catch this movie on TV. I have enjoyed Kimberly Williams in movies since seeing her in Father of the Bride.

I would love to show this movie to my students but they're a little young for it. I did, however lend it to a psychology prof because we had talked about how different couples cope with a child's disabilities. If they're really united, a disabled child would be almost/practically normal to them if it doesn't bring them even closer together. If there are cracks, a disabled child would be what drives the couple apart. Clearly, the Dr. would have been better able to handle this challenge from the beginning, probably partly because of his love for Dianne.

I love that Dianne wants the baby anyway, even though she says "it's not going to be alright".

I love how Amy is able to communicate with her so easily. It's amazing.

I love it when Mark comes back and Dianne figures out why he's *really* there and gives him a piece of her mind.

I love it when Amy tells Dianne that Julia is thankful for her life. The waterworks really go there!

beautiful movie!

Absolutely, this would be a good movie to show to teenagers and anyone considering marriage. They need to be aware of how strong a marriage needs to be if they are going to cope with the tough times they will deal with whether it is a disabled child or some other situation. We need to know that there are times we are going to be put to the test and as they say love is more than what you feel for someone. It's what you're willing to give of yourself.

I rented this from Netflix and watched it last night and I really enjoyed it too. I was freaking out at the puppy scene but thank god it turned out alright. I was having a panic attack.

I wish I could find a list of all the Hallmark Hall of Fame movies so I could check for them on Netflix.

absolutely some great messages in this film...

it's a good one for the 'right to life' society.

when the husband finds out that the child is going to be handicapped, he's trying to get Dianne to have an abortion and he asks his doctor brother to help him convince her, saying "it's not fair to the child" ... who's he to decide that? the truth is, he thinks it's not fair to him and Dianne to not have a 'perfect' child. ..I love Diane's response to 'we'll have a real family' ...

he says "She's six years old and she's dying...what was the point?" wow. nice.

and Dianne lets him know what the point is: Julia's not just a vegetable. She's a person with a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, who has difficulty communicating, but her friend Amy knows what she's trying to say better than anyone. It's amazing.

Julia is a person with the right to be alive.
