Question for those who speak Japanese (spoilers)

Hey I don't speak the language (know some words but not fluent by any means) so forgive me if this is a dumb question.

In the end when Yuna runs after Tidus, she gets up and in the English version says "I love you."

Yet I remember once watching the Japanese version of the ending (just for *beep* and giggles) and she says "arigato" which means "thank you."

Does the word "arigato" have more than one meaning? Cuz it seems like an extreme change in character from the Japanese to the English version. But it also could make sense given the storyline for FFX2.

Just a curious party.

No, arigatou has just the one meaning of "Thank You."

Japanese do not express their emotions the same way and "I Love You" may have been considered a bit extreme for Yuna to say so quickly. "Thank You" sort of fits, in that Yuna is thanking Tidus for the memories, the journey, and setting her heart free.
