Ending quote...

I just noticed that this movie did not have any memorable quotes and I was looking for the one at the end of the movie (a movie which I actually found interesting). Is the one I have here correct or is something wrong?

"Where there is love, there is life"

reply

Hi there,

I just finished watching this movie, and the only quote I saw at the end was:

"Love causes sorrow. Love causes fear. Those separated from love have
no sorrow and no fear."

I just finished watching it too. It was aired tonite here in germany at Pro7.
The last scene was the "codetable" of the chinese symbols, and the lines drawing connections between four or five of them.
The translation was "Where there is love, there is life", add in english text too, followed by the german (spoken) dubbing "Wo Liebe ist, ist leben".
If there a alternate ending possible? Two different film-versions?

"What happened mother? Why did we all run?"
"Man... was in the forest."

reply

I thought the ending quote was the cheesiest thing ever.
(If there is love, there is not death) You Ai Bu Si

reply

absolute best quote in this movie was the misspoken "Thank your mother" to the team of detectives who then look as if they are seriously considering killing him

There are actually 2 versions of the ending.
The one that most people see in cinemas is:

"Where there is love, there is life"

In this version he doesn't die because he is saved by those that love him.

Then there's the uncensored version on the DVD I got in Taiwan:

"Love causes sorrow. Love causes fear. Those separated from love have
no sorrow and no fear."

Here, he has kind of achieved immortality (in the Buddhist sense) because he has seperated himself from love - hence he will have no sorrow and no fear (these are elements that bind us to the human world).

Well, that's my interpretation of the second version anyway. I liked this version a hell of a lot better than the first one. Coz, admit it, the first one is just so cheesy.

Odd. On my DVD the ending quote is "If you have loved, you will never die."
