The "Grim Grinning Ghosts" segment scared me to death as a child and made me weep every time. My grandparents (who bought it for me) thought they'd accidentally traumatized me. Just the fact that it flipped from such a pleasant song, "Making Memories," to that ominous bit without warning. The dancing trees still make me shudder!!
OMG same here!! my older sister loved that part, but I was terrified of it!! And then when we say "The Haunted Mansion" The singing busts are singing that song when they first walk up to them. I was like "OH MY GOD, It's that song!!! With the trees!!!!"
Supposidly, I loved this scene when I was really young, then when I got older, I became terrified of it. I still wonder what my reaction will be now, as an 18 year old.
Me too, but I always LOVED it! There were a lot of Disney/animated movies and things that used to scare me, actually, but that I loved anyway, or maybe because of that..
I remember when my cousins were like 3, they said boo right before it said boo in the video, they had seen it so many times already. I also remember when my sister first got this video for a birthday present, we had a birthday party. Right after it when the boy says, Danelle, Danelle, we thought someone was saying that to my cousin. That was weird!
I never saw this video until recently. The main reason why I kinda like the Grim Grinning Ghosts is because it has my favorite Disney villain: the Big Bad Wolf!
Though I must admit, I do kinda wish they'd update that Big Bad Wolf costume! I don't think they've even modified it since the 1970s!
"Making Memories" would always create this psychological dread within me because I knew what segment was coming next! I just hated the trees. They were terrifying. And the way all of the villains would come dancing towards the camera . I love the song though.
The bears in "The Great Outdoors" also scared me. I just hated that they chased the children! And the costumes were so... disturbing.
Yeah, you like that? Mmmm... it's got pockets... are you into that?
when I was little I actually thought Melifecent was gonna pop any second right beside my bed at night like she did at one point during the video when she popped up on the screen saying "Boo!"
It's funny because that terrified me, but I was totally fine with the ride when I was little. It was just those gosh darn trees! If I ever visit The Haunted Mansion as a guest and see those things standing on the grass, I'm running. lol
