Cannot believe this movie...
The only reason i rented it is because it had the "Recommended" sign in my Blockbuster's... something that i'll NEVER do again thanks to this movie.

This is playing OnDemand and I gave it a go. I hate when people say "two hours of my life I can never get back" but it fits for this movie.
I still have no idea who is for what and why, etc. So many flaws, including the 'close-up/action/handheld camera work that is unwatchable and made my head spin worse that any MTV video ever did. Confusing? Yes, not only the plot and characters, but how about 45 minutes in when they're sitting at the table discussing business and out of the blue without any rhyme or reason they all start SPEAKING ENGLISH!!! HUH????
The only thing I can figure is that this was trying to be some kind of "Videodrome"-like film and it fails, oh so badly.
Simple logic should have explained this to you. When they were sitting at the table discussing business, the French did not speak Japanese. The Japanese did not speak French. But both the French and Japanese spoke and understood English. So, the interpretation stopped and they all spoke a common language.
Yeah, this film suffers from at least a half an hour that was cut from the film, apparently to get an R rating. Supposedly, the full length DVD is due to be released soon.
It's funny what a half-hour can do to wreck a movie if it's missing.
