Ghastly? No.

I've seen worse movies. I sure wouldn't inflict this movie on kids.
It's a saccharine-sweet nostalgia trip for Southern bigots and very little more.
The child Lily was the most unbelievable character, followed closely by Quince. At least Tom Arnold looked like he was enjoying himself.

I couldn't stand the character Lily Jane Bobbit. But the other movie characters were fine. I think it's best if this movie was never filmed or created.

i saw about half of it, it was pretty good, it made me feel good. i liked it. im sure if i had watched the whole movie i might have gotten a little sick of it, but i think its good for a late night when ur kinda emotional.

There are many better choices to watch than this film. Watching a documentary or another entertainment film are some examples.
And yes the character Lily Jane Bobbit was very annoying.

And the movie was corny, and the character Lily Jane Bobbit was irritating.

cringe worthy. even my mom, who has a high tolerance for crap, shook her head while watching. the accents are atrocious. the little girl...wow, just wow. i've seen better child performances from elementary school plays. why did they use so much makeup on her? besides all of this, it does not accurately portray capote's story, at all. i am sure he would roll in his grave if he could watch this pile of garbage. this could have been so much better, if it had an entirely new cast, director, etc.

I thought this was a decent movie. Not the best but not the worst. The characters were a joke, but I think that was the point of the movie. Of Course Lilly Jane got on my nerves just as much as anybody. No, I don't believe that this is a movie for impressionable young ladies or boys for this matter. It is based on a very bigoted South. But it was a good movie in my post New Years Eve emotional state. :-)

Lily Jane Bobbit very annoying and a pain. I felt queasy when I noticed that this movie has been broadcasted on cable television for the past few weeks.(I saw it listed in TV Guide)
