Shallow movie!

This movie was shallow and cotton-candy like. What a waste of film! Many other films are more worthwhile to see than this film, which was focused on an extremely pompous and obnoxiously showy teenage girl. She was too much of a show-off and very pretentious. Sickening!

I disagree; this movie deals with growing up in a small Southern town and it's amazingly enjoyable :D

It just didn't have the magic or feel of say My Dog Skip, Stand By Me, or even
Kit Kittredge: An American Girl to name a few.
