Romanticizes lesbianism?

I think that is wrong. It goes against moral law.

I don't think it romanticizes lesbianism. While it may not show the trials or conflicts of a lesbian, it is more the intention of the director to show that sexuality is fluid (trademark of Ozon). The issue of homosexuality is not really explored in depth at all. Plus, it is a campy film tribute packed with inside jokes- not a social commentary.

I don't think so, if that were true I doubt everyone would have been so upset over Chanel being a lesbian. That's not romantic.

The OP is clearly looking for an argument and a altercation.

Guess what, lesbianism is neither wrong or unnatural. It is a part of life! Every individual is entitled to live their lives the way they see fit without fear of persecution. There is no surpemacy of thought, we do not live in a totalitarian society telling us what we should and shouldn't be and we should be grateful, look at how many millions have died and being persecuted for being "unnatural" and against the social order.

The film is a parody and a homage to cinema, and a reflection of the passing of time and social change. It also makes reference to Classical Hollywood actresses and their lives, most evident Chanel who is really Hattie McDaniel.

The OP = homophobe

oh yeah, most certainly. It's especially entertaining when you know that her username is coincidentally the name of an extremely well-known lesbian film. It's not really worth responding to the comment about 'moral law'. hahaha.

Since we're on the topic, I love the Gaby/Pierrette hate/love moment. I'm also confused as to whether or not Louise is being defiant towards Gaby or flirtatious. Perhaps both...

Aren't you the one going around with several different usernames trying to spread the word of how "immoral" homosexuality is and how "immoral" porn is because it degrades women? Wow, you are psycho my friend. I am a straight woman and happen to LOVE watching porn, I don't feel it degrades us at all. Have you ever actually sat down and watched a few of them online? I do it ALL the time. As for homosexuality and "lesbianism" being wrong, how is it wrong to have a personal preference different than yours? Since I am not religious and you clearly are, does that mean that you are wrong and stupid? THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING HOMOSEXUAL OR PORN!

that would be terrible-I mean, imagine a film that shows a heterosexual relationship in a romantic light???

I think this movie does romanticize lesbianism to a degree. Whether there is something wrong with that is up to each individual viewer. I personally see this as a beautiful thing. And I liked how the film showed different dynamics of lesbianism.
