Ridiculous story?

Am I wrong, that the story of this film is completely ridiculous?
How is it possible, that Suzon is pregnant by Marcel, when she hasn`t been home for one year? Why does the film not handle this inzest-theme in any way, after the spectator was informed about it?
Why on earth should Marcel, together with his daughter Catherine, play this stage to find out the secrets of the women close to him? Suzon, who everybody considers as his daughter, is pregnant by him, and he has a lover for five years, who now lives secretly in his home together with his wife. He should be the first not to provoke any trouble in the house for he is the one who has to hide most.

Thank you for existing. I was starting to think I was the only one who thought this movie didn't make any sense. Honestly at the end, I was cheering when he died - he's a sick, perverted pedophile. Even if HE knew Suzon wasn't his daughter, Suzon didn't know; and sleeping with a girl you treated as such is disgusting. And the fact that Catherine knew he was the father of her sister's baby, and was apparently okay with it, was just as messed up. I didn't find this funny or entertaining at all. It was just weird and random, with a ridiculous story, and annoying characters that grated on my every nerve. I've liked my fair share of French films, but this was definitely not one of them.

Have you ever seen a musical? It's hard to NOT be ridiculous when people periodically break out singing and dancing.

Also, it's amazing how people get upset by totally fictional things--especially when they ARE ridiculous. And, like most people on the IMDB, you're probably stretching the meaning of the word "pedophile" quite a bit. Did he sleep with a pre-pubescent child at some point? Sleeping with much younger women or even teenagers is not "pedophilia", it's pretty much just typical French male behavior (at least in their movies). Besides, he got MURDERED.
