i got the first season of doc on dvd but does anyone know how many seasons the show ran?

But lasted three years. (2001-2004)

How does it have 5 seasons, but only ran 3 seasons?

I think each season only had 13 episodes, as opposed to the usual 21-23 episodes of other shows. So they could run more than one season per year.

yeah, being that the show was filmed in Canada, and backed by Canadian television network CTV, they were using the Canadian version of seasons: 13 episodes instead of 22.
