Random 'Girl Power' cartoon; 80's/90's?

I always remember a cartoon that came out after the whole Jem scene, either at the end of the 80's or the early 90's. I have no idea of the title, but all my mind comes up with is Strawberry Shortcake. I know it definitely wasn't the same style of the cute little muffin hatted characters, so I don't know why I keep coming back to that title. Anyway.

The main character had blonde hair and a valley girl type attitude. She (I assume) was some sort of chosen one and was taken to another world to probably do something heroic. The one thing I remember is she was given a suit of armor, and in one scene had to cross a raging body of water (river?) standing on a wooden raft or something similar. The only line I can recall was something along the lines of "Get me out of the metal jump suit!" and I think she changed back into her normal clothes.

I know that was pretty vague, but I'm sure someone had to have seen it besides me. I have a feeling it was either a TV movie, or a pilot for a series. I don't think it got picked up.
