Belle + Sebastian Officially Coming out on English lang. DVD

After all of these years, Mysterious Cities of gold finally saw the light of day as an official DVD release in the US. The DVD was released by a company called Fabulous Films. I became curious at what other treasures this company could have in its DVD catalog. When visiting the site, in the top corner next to "Coming Soon" is Belle & Sebastian! It is currently only on their UK page, so I encourage everyone to check out the site for Fabulous Films and blast them an email if you want a R1 release of it here in the US. Exciting news though!!

Unfortunately, every time I hear from Fabulous Films UK, they cannot find the English masters and apparently TOHO is also asking a ludicrous amount of money for the rights. I have a sinking feeling it's never going to be commercially available because of this. They are pretty much just sitting on the copyright, unable to release the show.

I absolutely support commercial releases and I am an aspiring animator and cartoon preservationist myself. In these circumstances though, I've decided to offer my own fan DVDs of the series because I don't believe an official version will ever come. :(
