Agreed. Really hit the spot

reply

absolutely agree,

but at the same time, exactly that is the problem of this film.

isnt it ironic^^

reply

I agree. This ending caught me off guard. I was expecting the standard "She's just really crazy the whole time and all that scariness with the monsters and her friends dying was all a worthless waste of time, screw you audience" ending but it totally blew me away that they were REAL!

I completely agree with you. The ending was the best part of the movie.

reply

I agree. Off the top of my head, I can't of another horror movie where there are actually NO survivors. It was refreshingly different.

reply

I can think of quite a few actually. I won't name any of them to not risk spoiling you though.

The ending was the best part. Seeing Julia screaming for the doctors to help her get away but not being heard struck me on a visceral level. It had a powerful sadness to it when the doctor shuts the door on her and leaves her to the monsters.

Been 13 years since I saw this, is this the one where she gets dragged into the closet?

reply

Yes.

definitely not for the unintelligent.

What was it exactly that would go over dim folks' heads? I seem to have missed the symbolism and metaphors.

We've met before, haven't we?

reply

That she was now trapped permanently inside her mind with the creatures, with no way out.

I think.
