The quote that ended with "stupid lasts forever"...does anybody know the author or the text? It was Hundert talking to Sedgewick after he could not name an Emperor and I missed the beginning. Thanks.

The quote is: "Ignorance can be educated and drunkeness sobered, but stupid lasts forever." As far as who said it, your guess is as good as anybody's."
