Can someone explain the ending? *SPOILERS*

In 2013 I am seeing this question posted in 2008. I saw this movie many years ago and though it was S L O W, it stuck with me.

I thought she "got rid of" Lyle for the obvious face-value reason. Like many a young girl, she thought it meant Everything that she gave herself to a man. She thought it implied lasting connection and committment. Lyle was of course completely done with her before he even got his pants zipped up. She was humiliated and used. She had been foolish and he was the only other person in the world who knew she had been foolish.
