They should make one every year.

I wish they would do a special every year. Something like a two hour movie would be great. I understand the problem with set being broke down but Timothy Hutton & Maury Chaykin were born for these roles. Anyone else agree?

When there are two, one betrays-Jean-Pierre Melville

Strongly disagree. They should make TWO specials every year -- and, of course, THREE in the year they do the Zeck trilogy. :-)

Two that I'd like to see them make are Murder by the Book and Too Many Cooks. They wouldn't need the Brownstone for Cooks, either -- and just imagine those scenes on the train.

reply

Yes, "The Zeck Trilogy" ! And how about "Some Buried Caesar" for an out-of-the-Brownstone experience.

Sure - there are plenty of sets and plenty of stories...they lack only the will is my guess.

I would guess that, at the time, it was more to do with lacking the funding/backing than the will.

Sadly, since your post, this has become quite impossible, as now the world is lacking the talents of the late great Maury Chaykin.
