Marian Seldes has died

Ms Seldes was one of the "repertory" players. I met her about 12 years ago, on the set of Mona Lisa Smile. This series had been recently canceled, and I told her how disappointed I was about that. She was really delighted, and happy to talk about working on Nero Wolfe -- how much she enjoyed the way they had the same players in different roles each week, because sometimes you were the central figure, and sometimes you were incidental, but that it was always enjoyable.

She was very kind to this Extra on that film, and I've never forgotten that.

Thanks for sharing that lovely remembrance. She was a wonderful actress and an absolute stitch as the b**** in "Champagne for One" -- you could tell she was having as much fun playing her role as we were watching her.

Thank you so much for this post, and a special thanks for talking to Ms. Seldes about Nero Wolfe when you had that opportunity. I'm sure she was gratified to know that people knew her work in it and understood that the series was something very special. It's a mark of how fine the show is when a person like Marian Seldes has "incidental" roles; "Door to Death" is a little gem.

Thanks, Acter. Like Tina and Walter I really appreciate your sharing the exchange you had with Ms. Seldes about "Nero Wolfe." It was a tremendous show and she was a tremendous actress.
