Actually I did hear something on a reliable sci fi source that it IS gonna commence, but then again it may be rumour..once again. The new production company might have taken the project on. Who knows. I believe it when I see it.
shareThe Canadian channel Space (our version of Sci-Fi) is indeed running a promo for an all new season starting on Feb 11th.
That being said, I wasn't aware that this show *had* more then 1 season, so it may be a case of the season is just 'new' to the network (Much like how our cartoon network recently aired "all new ep's of Futurama"...which was just season 4, that they had never aired before).

It's what was mentioned above -- Space Channel (the equivalent of the US Sci-Fi Channel) is finally showing the third and final season's episodes. Since Space has never shown these before, they're calling them "new". Mutant X stopped filming in 2004.

3-the original company, Fireworks, imploded financially and the rights now belong to a company that has no relationship to the original corporation
4-lawsuits continue
5-everyone in front of and behind the camera has moved on to something else
6-syndicated adventure shows no longer make money--in its last season, it may not have been making enough to cover production costs
7-most of the actors were getting too old to play kids

Yer they are new shows for you: Season 3. This was the last season to be produced. It is not new for many others because season 3 has already aired but seemingly for you guys it hasn't. Mutant X is unfortunately not going to come back but at least we have three seasons to look back on and enjoy.
By the way, season 3 was the best, i hope you enjoy it.
None of the characters were supposed to be kids. They were all about the same age as the actors who played them.

It's new to Canadians because we only got Season's 1 and 2 on Space before it was cancelled, but CH (Hamilton/Toronto) picked it up this season. We did, however, get Firefly back on Space...YAY! No new episodes, but the entire season (all 14 episodes, not just the 11 shown on Fox) was shown before Serenity was released in theatres on Sept 30, 2005. :D

Late much? You resurrected this dead thread just for that? lol. I couldn't help but comment too. This thread is almost a decade old... Jesus, hard to imagine that it's been so long.
Oh, and about this show, I've only seen a couple of episodes online and this is baaaaad, I mean really bad! Though it is also entertaining because it's so bad.

Well, it's 2014 and this was started in '06 so ALMOST a decade old. But maybe I missed some newer comments.
Well, if you compare this show to a lot of reality show *beep* then yes, this was hell of a lot better but it's like comparing a ton of gold to a ton of *beep* everyone with half a brain knows which they'd rather choose. But I'll take a back a bit, Mutant X was an ok show, I loved the concept of it.
It sucked, but Tom McCamus and Lauren Lee Smith were good.
