Were the writers originaly planning to turn Emma evil had Lauren Lee Smith stayed for season 3? I got the vibe that she was starting to get arrogant when her powers got stronger.Also she showed a dark side when she threatened Jesse.
So it's treason then!
She was sort of challenging Adam a lot in her latter episodes, hiding how strong she really was and her defences were up from having bad experiences (the alien episode where she said she'd never trust anyone ever again) so, yes, I think they would have gone down that route if Lauren had stayed on the show.
I was excited by her turn. Then she died..
shareThey had begun to build, what I think could have been, a great story arc, with Emma being hostile toward Adam, erasing Jesse memory, and perhaps becoming the main villain in the series.
There were opportunities with Emma and her powers. And in my opinion the main flaw in the series was the lack of a continuing story arc, meing there was to little to no change episode to episode in the main story and the same with the character development.
