Were all the kids foster kids? And did she do it for the paycheck? When Carolee left she said "mom" in a sarcastic you're not my real mom kind of way. But Star referred to "two" of them being her own. Yet neither Carolee or Davee had a southern accent.... confused... never read the book.
shareYes all except her daughter Carolee. She says she’s her daughter when Star arrives. I get the impression she does it for the money who isn’t much at all by the way many foster parents use their own money to buy the kids clothes and stuff. I also think she did it to look more “holy”. As the movie shows she speaks on way while outside the home yet inside she’s a hypocrite.
