Trivia Section: Barbara Streisand?

I noticed in the trivia section it says Barbara Streisand was given the opportunity to direct and play Ingrid. Okay???? Directing maybe.....but they seriously wanted her to play Ingrid?? Not to be a dick or anything, but one of the most obvious points about Ingrid (in both the film and the novel) is that she is beautiful. Tragically beautiful, very Nordic looking and blonde with icy blue eyes. What were they planning to do with Barbara Streisand?? Were they going to try to convince the audience that Streisand's actually attractive?? Have her don a blonde wig and blue contacts? (vomit) Or were they going to re-write the story? In my opinion they should've offered her the role of Barry, it would've been much more fitting...
