Richard in Deleted Scene?

I have seen the cut and uncut versions of the movie but still have not seen this scene. The scene in question, described by Wikipedia and a few movie profile pages is

"He is briefly seen again in the film, reading Gwen's article in the school paper in the bathroom (presumably, his medical school dreams are ruined, as he mentions to Van in a deleted scene)."

It could just be a fluke where someone added that tag, or some cut I haven't seen. Has anyone seen the deleted scene in question, if it exists?

I just watched the uncut version and the scene is at the end, when everybody is reading the article.

After that comes the party.

Is there a scene where he mentions to Van that he no longer can go to medical school? If there is, I haven't seen it in any version
