How Can He Recover ??

I remember seeing the Swimfan quite a while ago, and while they did add a happy ending, I have always been curious about a few things. I dont want to spoil, but during the course of the movie, What I wanna know is if he was able to get those things back after dealing with the antagonist. I mean the whole story was sure to come out on the news and since the final fight happened IN THE SCHOOL, both Ben's coach and former employer should have heard about his situation, and been easy to convince of Ben's innocence, just like with the police.

Personally, I know his former employer might be more difficult, since he wasn't suppose to take his eyes off his cart, but even she should be able to AT LEAST consider the fact that Ben was the sabotaged victim of a stalker?? I mean that's not exactly a typical employee-messed-up excuse, and Madison proved shes capable of getting past COPS.

And for his swimming career, I am informed that when drugs are detected in the system, there is little chance of leniency, no matter the cause/reason. However, it was very evident that Madison didn't exactly poison Ben himself, but somehow managed to put the drugs in his test sample while the lab presonnel weren't looking. Doesn't that make a difference??

I just wanna know, in terms of reality, the possible aftermath from Ben's stalker. SHouldn't he be able to get his life back?

For those who are more knowledgeable in term's of "the real world", and watched the movie, what do you think happened off screen.

For those who havent seen the movie please look for it online (try youtube first),

P.S. I may have asked this before, but I think there was an issue with the dating system, so I wanted to repost with better detail.

He may have been able to get back on a swim team, even if they don't believe he was set up by a stalker re the steroids.
He may not get another look from another college recruiter, but eh.

Ben likely will not get his job back, because despite the fact that Madison changed the meds on the cart (which, again, would not be provable anyway), he DID leave the cart unattended.

Long story short, he probably got back on a swim team & he did get Amy back! 

I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
Didn't he discover America?
Penfold, shush.

What do you mean? Please explain why.

reply

Recruiters only come once usually, occasionally twice, to look at any one group of students.

Plus, they would have undoubtedly heard of Ben's steroid issues & this would almost surely eliminate him from the possibilities list).

What do you mean steroid issues? If you are referring to his juvenile drug records, it wasn't specified if he did steroids before. Plus, they most likely heard of his record the first time, and that didn't seem to stop them. Also, by the logic you stated, if they had heard about the rumours of the steroids, they also would have heard of Ben's stalker situation, right?

reply

In the film, he's caught with steroids in his urine. Remember? That's why he was kicked out of the race that day, and kicked off the swim team.
Madison got the steroids from one of his friends or had one of his friends sneak it in.

He had a criminal history yes, but that wouldn't keep him out of a high school swim team. They'd have no reason to even ask Ben about his history.
Nor would scouts, at least until they even decided they wanted him.

No one knew that Ben was being stalked by Madison. He never told anyone until almost the end of the film.

That's the whole reason I asked the question. Nobody knew Ben was being sabotaged/stalked by Madison, and had no reason to believe him if he told them. This allowed her to frame Ben for both the steroids and the murder. But after the final fight with her, there shold have been newspeople all over the story, who would would WANT to get all the facts, especially since Madison killed two cops, and go to Ben to tell his side. This would be giving him a chance to clear his name, and prove his innocence with everyone.

im sure once the story got out he would have gotten a second chance to try out for the college team.
