How did Joaquim de Almeida die?

I started watching this and quickly realized how much it sucked, but having invested so much time decided to stick it out. But I fell asleep after Joaquim de Almeida figured out that there was breathable oxygen on Mars, then woke up with the blonde chick all alone. How did he die?

The script bored him to death.

Sigh. 3 days to get a smartass reply? Don't make me rent it again to find out!

Well, as you may remember, Joaquim de Almeida and Maria de Medeiros (the blonde chick) wandered into this maze of tunnels that appeared to have been constructed by intelligent beings. No doors, no airlocks, just open tunnels. They mused briefly on the meaning of the hieroglyphs they found all over the walls; apparently, they should have mused a bit longer. Joaquim walked into another section of tunnel and SURPRISE it was a complete vacuum (Don't ask me how, but the pressurized tunnels and vacuum tunnels on Mars can somehow intersect). Joaquim instantly collapsed in spasms, started bleeding from the eyes, and the monotonous blonde chick almost suffered the same fate. She barely managed to lurch back into a pressurized tunnel and drag Joaquim with her, but it was too late for him and he died. She THEN realized that the hieroglyphs indicated which tunnels are vacuum and which are pressurized. Duhhhh.

Until I saw this flick, I thought Disney's "Mission to Mars" was the worst Mars film ever. But no... "Stranded" has the worst script and worst acting of any Mars flick out there. Was a relative of Ed Wood involved in this travesty, I wonder?

reply

Ahhhh, thanks - I thought it had something to do with him wandering out of the magical invisible airlock, but I wasn't sure.

And yes, this movie is awful.
