With all the language, violence, drug-using, etc...

Why do they "bleep" out the word "pussy" and fuzz out certain body parts that ordinarily would pass in a movie with this rating?

reply

because americans are sexophobes.

You must be watching T.V. movie of Spun or purchased a copy intended for the Jerry Fallwell Univ.
I downloaded my copy of Spun and there are no signs of sanitizing or manipulating the images. The movie shows all the wonderful human body parts, especially April's. A very gorgeous body....and it's being trashed

Pretty much, but gratuitous violence is perfectly acceptable, pathetic. I've never seen this version though, I keep hearing people complain about censored scenes?

reply

There was a censored version of the DVD that apparently got a pretty wide release.. the version on Netflix and such is uncensored though

or maybe not lol http://www.youtube.com/SunbeltRyders

Americans are "sexophobes"? OK, maybe a lot of them are but the majority? And yet it is in America that porn industries and erotic movies are popular and are manufactured in amounts more than in any other country in the world?

reply

The thing is, in SOME parts of the world, audiences are even LESS likely to be open minded to sexuality, but is it really all that bad or maybe they are just not into it etc, or is American mentality that special here?

reply

On the other hand, what are Americans or even simple people in the world in general NOT phobic too?
