The Cook

Mickey Rourke is SO smokin' hot in this movie! I only watched it for him, even though I hate drugs and think they are gross, but I'm definitely keeping this one just to drool over The Cook. :)~

You're an idiot. Probably like those sluts in Circus Liquor.

While I didn't personally see him as "smokin' hot", I think his mannerisms (especially that confident, smooth-talking, half-smile-half-sneer thing he had going on) made him seem especially enigmatic.

The only time his character allowed the facade to slip away a little was while recounting his particularly disturbing childhood to an obviously asleep Ross.

I may not be drooling over him, but I have a great deal of admiration for Mickey Rourke's acting. I honestly can't imagine anyone else playing "The Cook" other than him.

He played the part so well that for the duration of that film, I didn't see Mickey Rourke at all, but only saw "The Cook". That's the mark of a true actor.

I agree, amazing job! Mickey is so awesome in this, as well as the part he played in "The Wrestler" ... not so much sexy and handsome, as compelling, intriguing. I have known many a guy like this, "back in the day," and you are right. I was not thinking Mickey Rourke at all, throughout.

Although I didn't find him attractive in Spun, I thought he was sexy due to his charisma. I didn't think 'phwoar!' when I looked at him but his character was so...cool compared to everyone else who were running around like headless chickens.
It's hard to explain. I'll go for charismatic/enigmatic!

My group of friends used to be big fans of him when he was regarded as the next Brando. It was like one hit after another then things got really weird. I see his Cook character as a prelude to Randy The Ram: a very charismatic, larger than life persona that was bent on self destruction. If anything, the short reunion with Eric Roberts was worth the movie alone.
