A friend (former tweaker) brought it over. I was put off at first, thinking it might drive him right back to the habit, but I think he wanted me to see what it was like for him "back in the day."

Everyone in the film did a perfect job.

Internet article on drug movies. I was in this faze where I was watching drug movies from the early late 90's and 00's like Human Traffic, Go, Requiem for a Dream (though I had seen it long before) and Trainspotting. Funny enough I don't really do drugs or am I really into the drug scene, I just like the cinematography and filming techniques in a lot of these movies.

So anyhow watched this movie. It is a generic, over edited and cheesy "drug movie" that plays it's self out as a comedy in times where it knows it can't be serious.

My neighbors son's parole officer's brother-in-law's twin sisters bookkeeper's daughter recommended it to me. At first I thought it was a comedy and I realized it had absolutely no moral value what so ever... and then I watched it again for it's rather definitive opinion of female dancers in a third world setting while ingesting stimulants so to dance longer hours and at the same time finding a better outlet for their prurient desires. I enjoyed many of the characters in the movie. I have to give Mickey Rourke's wardrobe manager high marks for the unusual and unique fashion statement made by Rourke in the movie. I was also surprised when Ron Jeremy spoke, most movies he is a lube boy.

Looked up "movies about drug addiction" and this came up, and it is one hell of a ride through the world of crystal meth. A class movie all the same...

Just came across this on amazon prime.

It was never promoted and I don't recall a theater run either, and I live in L.A.

I do remember the DVD box cover at the Video rental stores and it almost grabs your interest until you read the synopsis.

I grew up with addicted family members and friends. No amount of Hollywood drama really captures the fall out from its effects

I think I was into indie films, and all of them, the title was catchy with a cool cover, plus roarke. I was into Rourke films at the time.
